SPPA® Designation
The Senior Professional Public Adjuster (SPPA) designation from The Institutes provides on-the-job skills for public adjusters through a 3-course program completed over 9-12 months with virtual exams.
The curriculum covers claims handling, professional communication, insurance fraud prevention, negotiation, claim investigation, property claims, and insurance operations. Required courses include AIC 304: Successfully Evaluating Property Claims, AINS 101: Increasing Your Insurance IQ, and SPPA 30: Claim Principles and Practices for Public Adjusters, plus a required ethics course.
Students learn to apply the claims handling process to property claims, understand commercial and personal property policies, navigate insurance policies effectively, communicate for efficient claim resolution, and recognize fraud indicators. Completing the SPPA 30 exam also earns the Certificate in Professional Public Adjuster (CPPA™).
